Mainstreaming Alternative Energy in Secondary Schools

In keeping with its mandate of "bringing the United Nations closer to the people and people closer to the United Nations" , the UNATT embarked on a project inspired by the Millenium Development Goals.

The Project entitled "MainStreaming Alternative Energy in Secondary Schools Project" is the UNATT's response to Millenium Development Goal 7, Ensure Evironmental Sustainability.
The project sought to introduce secondary school students to alternative forms of energy and allow them to interact with solar energy generation technology.

The Project has increased awareness of environmental issues inclusive of climate change and pollution. In an effort to achive maximum effect, secondary schools in each education district were chosen. The UNATT hopes that the project will assist in creating an energy and environmentally conscious generation of young people that seek to innovate and develop alternative energy resources and assist in mitigating the negative effects of climate change.
